NOTICE TO ATTEND URGENT MEETING

Please note that the School Governing Body would like to inform you of an urgent meeting that will be held in the Pinegrove School Hall on Saturday, 25 May 2024, at 09h00. The following important issues will be actioned: Registering on the Transport Driver Database, Vetting, Regulations and Policy regarding the transporting of learners.

Attendance is compulsory for of all that transport learners. Non-compliance will seriously affect their capacity as a ‘Learner Transport Driver’ of Pinegrove School learners.

DISCIPLINE

We are committed to providing a caring, friendly and safe environment for all of our learners so they can learn in a relaxed and secure atmosphere that fosters knowledge and promotes respect.

“Bullying involves repeatedly picking on someone with the aim of hurting or harming them physically, emotionally or socially.

Unlike teasing, which is usually mutual and occurs between equals, bullying usually involves an imbalance of power. – The bully may be bigger, tougher, or physically stronger, for example, or be more popular or influential. ”

With the above definition in mind, it is important for children to be taught the difference between bullying, teasing (‘dissing or roasting’) and an argument or fighting. All the afore mentioned are unacceptable at our school and will not be tolerated.

Pinegrove School encourages all learners to immediately report incidents of Bullying of any kind in the school.  It is vital for children to be educated that bullying is wrong and should be handled by an adult. Report bullying of yourself or other learners to your teacher and / or parent immediately.
